It's a long story that I will make short. In gr. 9, I used to like this dude in gr.10. My friend was in his art class and told me about him and I really liked him (wrote his name on my jeans, wrote poems about him, learned words in his language). So my other friends knew about my crush on him and everyone would either say he was ugly or an idiot or immature. They'd always be like you're so pretty and you can do way better but I liked him anyways.
One day my friend told him while he passed us in the hall while listening to his ipod. Then my friend told me he had a girlfriend who mysteriously none of us saw but her. Then they "broke" up. After that, he wouldn't stop staring at me. He'd sit there, listening to his music and stare at me. I was scared so I'd always look at something else. But he'd stare. Like I'd walk past him and he'd stare at me after turning around.
Now I just want to know whether as guys you'd stare more at a girl if she was pretty or ugly?

But I'm not sure if he liked me because I don't really feel like I'm pretty. But everyone says I am but I don't feel like I'd be good enough for him to like me. (he's white, I'm black and I'm not one of those preppy girls, etc.)

I'm not fishing for compliments or anythin.Just relating the whole thing so I can get more honest answers. Plus, I didn't really know him but if a guy stares at me, I worry he thinks I'm ugly.

I'm not a guy BUT will tell you that a guy will find "something" about a girl who's decent, whether she's overly pretty or as you say ugly...as long as she's OK.
Now, he was either a.) spacing out while looking at you but not paying attention that he was really looking at you or b.) He was staring to figure out if he'd feel the same, sort of checking out the merchandise.
Now option c.) would be if he gives you feedback as in asking you out or letting a friend know his interested in you too.
So, unless option c.) happens I wouldn't focus too much on the staring part.
Woud YOU stare at a guy if you thought he was UGLY??

People tend to stare at pretty things but in your case I don't think the pretty/ugly issue is here. You need to ask him why he keeps staring at you. You said you are shy, but you have his name written on your jeans, how shy is that? I think that was a bold move. So you walk on over say Hi and start a conversation. Only then will you know what he's thinking.

I read the question on the top and am answering that .. I would stare more at a pretty girl than an "ugly" one .. (whatever "ugly" might mean to someone). Why ? It is only human nature to do so. Even with experiments of babies .. they stare much longer at what is considered a pretty face .. than an ugly one. Good Luck ! :)

most guys would stare more at a pretty girl but me personaly i like it when the girls heart is int the right place cause pretty dont mean a thing, i know a lot of pretty hood rats that aint worth a quarter lol whell u have a good day sweety.

If a girl is ugly most guys wouldn't even look at her.
We mostly look at all the really good looking ones.
Trust me, I've never seen you before and I know your pretty because of this story.
He likes you.
Talk to him.
Don't be shy.
He probably is shy when it comes to talking to girls.

It is all about open communication which builds trust, genuine friendship that lasts a lifetime and about sharing values and life without judging others.
I would stare at a women who has a genuine heart and intelligent mind forever, if we shared what i mentioned above!
What really defines beauty is when you have all of the above with 1 woman or person of the opposite sex that understands this.

There shouldn't ever be a definition between pretty/ugly, because all women are beautiful. However, "pretty" girls I stare at more. "Ugly" girls, it's more of a shock then you forget about it.
He sounds like, if hes staring at you like he wants to kill you, that's bad. But if it's a good stare, you should go talk to him. :)

How do you know if he really didn't have a girlfriend? You don't know anything about him.
This is all just so shallow and immature. He either doesn't like you or doesn't like you enough to make a move.

i will say pretty. look at how he stares at you. is he lyk the "i wan to get 2 noe u" sile or "u look weird" type of face. if he smiles that means he may hav sumthng up aginst his sleeve. just smile back. haha.
