wot does age matter if your in love. the problems would arise if children were involved. also, the age is not relevent now but when you are both older it may be an issue. it all depends on both your personalities ie. do you both like clubbing, pubbing etc. if he does and you do not, this will interfere with the relationship. however, this can happen whatever age gap so my suggestion is go with the flow and enjoy. good luck

It is not only about love....it is about functionality too. Is this guy well established? Is he at the same stage of life as you? Does he have a good paying job? Is the relationship practical and realistic? Do you both have the same goals in life? Is this guy just as emotionally mature as you? How compatible are the both of you?

It SHOULD all be about love. My husband and I have been together for 27 years. He is 2 years younger than me. We were 17 and 19 when we started dating. Married when we were 21 and 23. In Jan. we will be celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary!! WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT? EVERYTHING!

Dear ebygirl, thankyou for asking this question, as I'm in a similar situation! I'm 30 and I really like this guy who's 21, but I feel reluctant to give in to my feelings - everyone has said the same to me; my friend said she thinks we'd be good together.

You are both consenting adults and, given that women generally outlive their spouses (on average) then you may well be together into old age. And if he's caring and loves you to bits, go for it. If you don't, some other woman might take a fancy to him.

You are more concerned with what people will say. People will talk about anything. You have to ask yourself if you are ok with the age difference.

My sister's husband is 5yrs younger than her. My dad is 8yrs younger than my mom. (yea my mom and sis like younger men). I prefer a guy 4-5 yrs older than me.

You can't help who you fall in love with! If the relationship goes wrong, then surely it was worth the try, we all have to find 'Mr Wrongs' before finding 'Mr Right'. But you shouldn't not have the relationship because of the age gap, theres no reason why he can't be your Mr Right!!!

It depends on how mature he is. Is it wise? Who knows? You have to get to know him first before you know if it is wise to be with him. How does he act? Is he abusive? Is he short tempered? Is he nice? Can he hold down a job? Only you can make the "wise" choice.

It might be a bit better if he were more like 25 years old .. but if you feel he is a mature 22 .. then there is nothing odd or wrong with it at all. Good Luck ! :)
