I'm an atheist, but I have no interest in science fiction. And yes, the idea we were put here by aliens is a nutty substitute for theism.

I am not into science fiction at all and i am an atheist. Panspermia can also mean the hypothesis that some of the building blocks to life were brought here from outer space. I don't believe it myself. But it isn't all that far fetched.

The science fiction book, "Towing Jehovah" should obliterate that theory - and is an interesting book, too. Panspermia - that sounds like Scientology. It's all nutty.

Ahahahha,
That's is exactly what most religions are saying even though they will deny it.
Checkout Ezekiel,
The Bible Ezekiel 1: 19 - 21
When the living creatures moved, the wheels beside them moved; and when the living creatures rose from the ground, the wheels also rose. Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, and the wheels would rise along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. When the creatures moved, they also moved; when the creatures stood still, they also stood still; and when the creatures rose from the ground, the wheels rose along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
For ancient science fiction read Ezekiel

Science fiction is speculation about the future based on current science. It is an interesting subject because it stimulates people to consider the possibilities of the unknown. But just like the ancient scriptures, it should not be considered the literal truth.

I like the concept of a nutty substitute for theism - like a wet substitute for water.

science fiction is the modern version of spirituality, both are the result of an overactive imagination.
Panspermia is delusions of Grandeur of the human species, claiming a different origin from bacteria
