The best way to learn a language is really to imerse yourself in it as much as you can. When you're at home speak English, think about the english translation of all the objects you handle.
Also, speak the language as much as you can. I once went out with a girl who spoke very little english and a lot of korean. When she was with me she had to speak English and so she practiced all the time with me, her english improved so much even in just a month. By the 3rd month it was approaching fluent. When we broke up she stopped speaking it and when we talked a few months later her english was terrible. So keep pracitcing all the time, spend time with english speakers, get english pen pals!
Good Luck

Watch old English movies.
Listen to Radio Four when you're at home.
Form a conversation group with other English-speakers.
Read newspapers and good novels.
With time, doing all these things, you will absorb the language.
