Hinduism has been around for thousands and thousands of years, but has yet to convert the world because Hindus do not actively seek conversion from others. Some religions grow spread faster because of their missionaries and such. So, I don't think Hinduism has been growing fast, just consistently. Now is an age where people are hungry for different ideas and thoughts... so perhaps there is just a more interest in it.

Hinduism is not just a religion like so many other religions which have religious strictures and diktats, It is guide a real way of human existence teh simple example is that you wont find single or one god and one spiritual head in Hindu religion, there are many forms and names for God. The principle here is stress on belief and faith in Truth ie God rather than a particular religion. With the time passing the deterioration of spiritual understand many have created different sects and religion based on this vast knowledge just for political and vested interest. There is no end to this phylosophy irrespective of how you mould it for ones own benifit. The word growth has no relevance here!

In India there has been no records ever in the past or in the Current History of any Hindu, Zorastrian, Buddhist, Jain or Sikh having Fought(on grounds of religion) Because each of us had great respect for each others religion.
Only once there was a riot between Hindus and Sikhs which was Political.
Now we have no hostilities in fact A third of the Indian army Comprises of Sikhs when their population in India is not even 2 %
Hindus have such faith in Sikhs.
Hindus and Muslims have a Bloddy history with Muslims as Millions of Hindus in the Past 800 year Muslim rule were converted under the Sword and more than 100 thousand temples were destroyed by these Muslim Zealots.
Thats why Hindus in genral dont like Muslims.

As Hindus are not encourage people to convert their religion may be they are less in number but they are very peacefull and they can worship their god in their own way they are not orthodox, there u found mandir and masjid charch and gurudwara together. Hindus had never done any attack on any other part of the world for their religion from beginning of Hinduism, they believe in live and let live. the new generation of Hindus are very practical and they have very deep thinking for any matters whether it is related to them or others, maximum are well educated and progressive. Thus i think the Hindus are growing fastly rather than Hinduism

Hindus do not have any religious obligation to spread their faith
They do not have media, money and economy used by other religions to spread
Truth of Hinduism and philosophy of hinduism is to deep that anyone higher on the mental evolution will finally go for it
Even if hindus fall in numbers, Truth will remain

I know the fact that fastest growing religion is of muslims but I disregard this fact as the muslims are the worst people bcoz they have forgotten the teachings of Quran and follow thier clerics who have misguided them.
Hinduism as many of the particepants have claimed that it was not meant for the conversion, did forcibly tried to vanish other religions like Budhhism from its birth place.
The history is full of such instances where Hindus , Muslims, Christians, Jews , Jainis Budhhists detroyed eachother places, universities, libraries, monuments, temples, mosques.....
It is a pity that only muslims are branded in a negative manner. I think muslims have never been good politicians.Thats why they are facing defeat on the front of propaganda. Hope they had the MANTRA of " SAM, DAM , DAND , BHED " like hindus.
[This is in no way condemnation of Hinduism..]

Hindus or hinduism does not believe in conversion or proselitisation. Hence their number is most likely not increasing, it may rather be decreasing owing to conversion to other religions. It is in fact not a religion of the types of Islam, christianity or even sikkhism or buddhism. All these religions believe in a prophet of their own, a religious book in which they must have full faith as being the only gospel truth, and in certain rituals like baptisation without which they can not be classified as followers of that religion. Hinduism in fact only believes in certain tenets or principles in which one must have faith- they pertain to god humanistic values like ahimsa etc.
Even though the govt of India does not encourage Hinduism, it is many highly educated individuals of western world are getting attracted to the philosophy of hinduism. There are however many weaknesses in hinduism which has prevented it from becoming the worlds most scientific religion.

Does it matter? Hinduism is in reality not a religion. It empowers people to think, feel , behave and do what they are comfortable with. If you are talking about numbers, probably not fast. But, if you are talking about people wanting to embrace it, probably very fast. Unfortunately, one has to be born as a Hindu to be a Hindu.
