Um...y ou're 23...and you're all hanged up on your dad's demands? This is your decision no matter wth your dad thinks. A 4 yr different at 23 and 27 is not a bad thing at all.

One thing is that you're 23. you can make your own decisions. He's only four years older. That's strange that your dad would have something against that. My boyfriend is 3 years older and we've been together for four years. I was 18 and he was 21.
You can't help who you fall in love with. I say go with what your hearts tells you. You're dad just my accept it in the long run. GOOD LUCK =)

my friend is in the same situation. If you are truly in love nothing can stop that and you just have to tell your dad that you are an adult and that you can make your own decisions. Since this guys been around this long it's pretty clear he's not just looking for a one night stand so you know what just go for it and everything will turn out great!

The husband being 4 years older than his wife is considered normal if not a good match. My father was 6 years older than my mother.Thiers was a happy marraige,Me being one of thier 5 sons. Try confiding in your Dad to help him see reason, failing which you could seek the help of some elders to bridge the gap.

Age is just a number?
Well, I personally think 4 years of difference is not such a big deal. If you are really in love, maybe you want to talk to your dad about it? You need to understand that you are the one who's dating your boyfriend, not your dad.
Good Luck!

4 years?? Are you kidding me. I have friends that are married to guys 20 years older! Plus, is it up to your dad or up to you to decide who you should and want to be with?

Your dad can't decide who you want to be with, plus 4 years is pretty much the same age. I mean even 17-21 isn't a big age gap.
