Totally related to your club head speed. If you can't compress a 100 compression ball effectively it will go shorter, For club head speeds greater then 100 MPH with a driver you will get more distance out of a 100 compression ball Less than 90 MPH and it will go shorter, In between it is close although a 90 compression ball at those speeds would give you more control with you irons.

depends who hits it. A golfer who hits the ball well with a lot of swing speed can hit the 100 compression ferther. A person with a slower swing speed with hit the 90 futher. Most of today's golf balls are 80 compression

If your swing speed is high enough to compress it. If you have a slower swing speed, a 90 compression ball will compress more and go father when you strike it.
