I grow my hair out quite often and people are always surprised by how fast I get it to get real long. The secret is to not go to the salon! Just let it grow! It is really important to keep it really healthy so wash and condition it only every other day and do not blow dry it or use any type of heat styling devices such as curling irons or flat irons. If you have to get it dry quick then stand in front of a room fan and shake it out and brush it gently. It will dry just not as quick as with a blow dryer.

To remain attractive until you get it to the right length use head bands, pony tails, barretts, hair clips, bandanas, and hats!

Stick with letting it grow and get a hair cut next spring. At that point you can get it done into just about any style you want. Good Luck.

I'm trying to grow my hair long too. You should get you hair trimmed if there are split ends but if there aren't then you don't have to worry about it. Also if you do get your hair cut just ask them to trim it. It should look the exact same just a little bit shorter. But it will grow back.

Just give it a trim. It will keep your hair from looking stringy. And a stylist is always going to know where to start. No matter how bad you think your hair is, they have seen worse and will know what to do to make it better.

You should wait just a little, maybe two weeks. Meanwhile try on different styles, like a scarf or a hair band earrings. All those accessories can change your look. Be patient and soon you can have a new style.
