I don't deny Jesus or God, but I'm not a christian either.
I understand to some degree the factual bits, and the mythical majority of that scripture.
Be it that Jesus may seem like the only way for many, that is usually because of their exposure to the material.
Now that I have sought out various cultural wisdom of several areas, my former christian beliefs have changed.

So in the sense, I deny the jesus and god of those that follow the bible exclusively that also refuse to understand the rest of humanity and their wisdom and ways of life.

jim, i am not an atheist nor am i religious. ONE of the reasons that i am not religious is because of the hypocrisy and self-righteousness that i see in churches. it is not so much a denial of Jesus or God, it is an unwillingness to ally myself with a group that seems so intolerant and confused. by confused, i mean: why do many (notice, not all) christians threaten hell and shake their fists and bully people into entering a religion that is supposed to be love and sacrifice and mercy?

every priest, church service i have gone to preaches Christ's infinite love and forgiveness--but the attitude often turns smug and self-satisfied--I have been saved and God loves ME, what about YOU?

i hope you asked this question sincerely because that is how i answered it. i have not "denied" anyone. i just cannot see how Jesus or God can be found in the way some christians preach. and if there is that much of a discrepancy in the teaching of love and Christ, then what is to be believed? who is to say which is right?

My reason for denying Jesus and God is based on the lack of evidence from my vantage point. I just don't see any evidence of divine will or protection in this life. When I was a kid, I used to pray, but I stopped because I never saw my prayers answers. Oftentimes, the problems I needed help with got worse because I was praying about them instead of actually doing something to to solve the problem.

They want to do as they please. That is the main reason for rejecting God. If you deny his existence, there is no reason to follow His rules. There is no true accountability for your actions and lifestyle without God. Also, a big reason is that people fear what they don't understand. They rely on here-say to make up their minds, instead of delving into the Word. I was on the fence myself at one time, but I began to listen and learn. I don't have time to worry about being a skeptic anymore. I just want to learn all I can about a loving God who would sacrifice His own son because of His infinite love for me.

Some people only believe what they can See. Or need proof. Me I believe. But I do see others who say they believe, but still need proof. We are not perfect, we will make mistakes. But the others will follow when their lives's are on the line. Haven't you ever heard that joke of the Atheist and the bear? When the Atheist was about to get eaten by the bear, he asked for God's help, then God asked if he thought he deserved it. The Atheist then said no and asked for God to make the Bear Christian. So then the Bear didn't attack him, but started to thank God for this food he was about to eat...LOL.

They are similar as to why President Bush denies global warming. There is lots of scientific history and proof to show it's nothing special or extraordinary. The global warming people are just a bunch of extremist radicals and followers of that nut Al Gore, who thinks he invented the internet.

Because they don't have "proof". Some people need to see in order to believe. Jesus said: "blessed are those who believe without seeing". Another reason is rebellion. Think about it. It's natural for a child to rebel against their parents. God is our father and some people choose to rebel against him.

Because to believe in something that cannot be proved is illogical. I believe in God, I don't know why exactly. It is something inside of me and I know that He exists. Maybe He is a fairy tale. So what. I loved Snow White.
