There are many ways that an Engineer can help with life. From designing public works to making sure that things operate safely and efficiently.
I am a mechanical engineer, and one of the projects that I have worked on was to design a boarding system that would allow a wheelchair-bound passenger to board into a railcar, while still allowing other passengers to use the same entrance.
Another project is a seat for military helicopters that will protect the occupants in case of a crash.
Engineers have an indelible mark in society which can be seen daily. From the comfortable feel of your cell phone to the latest and greatest laptop computer to the newest automobile safety device or the biggest stadium in the world. These are all engineering projects, and teams of engineers are creating new solutions to the world's problems daily.
