I keep seeing on her teenagers asking about older boys or girls asking them out? When i was 14 a boy 19 asked me out and my parents had a fit. My father told me was desperate and couldnt find a girl his own age. I was furios at the time of my father saying that . As an adult and having a daughter i understand what he ment. I agree with him now. What do you think. ( i think when your an adult age doesnt matter as much well depending on how big the age gap is)

I agree with you and your dad. Age does matter when its involve young girls or boys. I feel its not right for a grown ups or adult to go after someone under age! They go for young kids because like your father said, they can't find a girl their age and young girls are easy to control. They can mold them the way they want (someone I know said that.....)

i think when there is a big age difference, it can be dangerous, because a lot of times older people are more experienced and want and expect more, and think differently. like if a 40 year old is seeing a 20 year old, the 20 year old may still want to live their life, and party, and go out clubbing, etc, while the 40 year old has already done all that and wants to settle down and start a family, etc. the goals may clash, but in some cases it might work out.

Ok in my opinion i think that it is ridiculous to go out with someone over 3 years older than you if you're a minor. I think that the maturity level of kids at the age of a highschooler isnt good enough compared to someone who is 19 or 20 (obviously). Therefore the decisions that highschoolers make tend to screw them over when it involves sex, drugs and what not. i mean when you have sophmores in classes with a 2 year old child whos father is the ex-boyfriend, you know that age difference in dating can be very dangerous. parents should be involved in their children's life.

Even thoughts it's just 5 years, it does matter to your father and you have to respect your fathers decisions, he is only doing what is best for you, most guys that age do want only one thing from a girl, sex, and you don't want to be in that kind of relationship.

If one is over the age (legal) then that person should look for someone of the same age or around.
