I asked why people come on the religion and spiritualiy board if they are not interested in learning and only want to bash religions. Then someone says this is not exclusively a Christian board. No where in the question does it say that. It asks why people are bashing religions. Plural. If you can't take questions seriously, don't bother or offend the people who are actually trying to use their brain. Make sense?

Some people seem incapable of multidimensional thought. Unfortunately that is probably the reason for so much pain in the world.

No this does not make sense.

First, why do people ask questions that all ready "know" the answer? Why do people expect answers limited to narrow questions?

You ask a question that you don't know the answer and find the answer may be found in a more general notion.

Let take your question. Do people read questions before they answer? The bold type is your question. In your details, you talk about "learning", "bashing", "exclusively", multiple "religions" (plural), "no where", "seriously". "offend". "brain" power, "make sense". Tell me where any one of your details contributes to clarify your question? In fact, they are the beginning of a statement that does not have anything to do with your question.

Here is the begin quick rewrite of your detail: It seems that certain answers do not focus on the question, for example, .... This is your topic sentence.

Next time don't complain about people reading questions, but complain that their answers have nothing to do with questions and give an explanation why. Your judgmental values states your answers is to another question whose answers you just don't agree with.

Do you really think I did not read your question?

Why do people come on the religion and spirituality board if they are not interested in learning and only want to push their religions?

I take you at your word that you are actually trying to use your brain and your brain should give you the answer. Most of the people who come here to challenge religion and the religious have had their experience almost exclusively with Near Eastern monotheisms which have bloody histories and whose adherents still contain large groups intent on imposing their world view on others either through political means, harassment, intimidation and outright violence to include mass murder.

Here in the United States the Christian Dominionists, like the Islamists of the Muslim lands, are a boil that desperately needs lancing, and they are only possible because of the widespread ignorance and bigotry among nominal Christians who practice a fundamentalist triumphalism where "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God" is never uttered, where science is the enemy, wherein Jesus is a deity to be worshiped but not a teacher to be obeyed, who if they ever gained real secular power would make the Inquisitions look like a tailgate party in short order. These people are not harmless folks with quaint superstitions, but in fact they have a plan which bodes ill for freedom and progress. So many of us have concluded that leaving people to their theistic delusions and allowing them to believe and spread mythical nonsense unchallenged hurts society as a whole as well as us as individuals.

The only way I know to fix arrogant ignorance is confront it with facts. I'm not in the halls of Congress trying to outlaw Christian marriage or repeal tax exemption of Churches or zone them out of existence. But I am here pointing out that faith is not fact, and absent fact, we shouldn't be going around telling infidels they're going to hell and trying to legislate non-believers out of existence, and working to unify church and state, which has never done anything but promote evil and corruption in both. Not everyone here is part of the problem, but if there is going to be progress, this is one of many forums where it might be made, even if contentiously and with much vitriol. We will not agree on what is progress obviously.

What's the fun of that!

I suppose you also expect us to read the manual before we use some new toy! Who does that! You plug it and and push buttons until something happens!

How many girls out there have actually read the entire instruction sheet in a Tampon box!

How many people out there have actually read the entire sheet that comes packed with an over the counter medicine like Nyquil!

Who here has actually read ALL the rules of Yahoo Answers!

Now, what was the question again?

You have to remember that the majority of the people on here don't even read the answers to their OWN questions. They are egotistical adolescents who like to see their "name in lights".

And the reason they come to the R&S board is becuase there are so many atheist here, it's the only place they "fit in" in life. Think about it...how many atheist have you ever met in real life? Like none for me...Everyone i know goes to Church that's where we worship and socialize. When a person doesn't have that, they seek to fill that void.

I unquestionably tend to accept as true with the different solutions on right here. i think of a few human beings purely want the interatin or to work out hwere different all human beings is on the undertaking fairly than seek for an answer. i be attentive to in the previous I ask a quesiton I often will seem to work out if i will locate an answer first that provides me what i want to be attentive to. especially situations a question will spring up out of casual communication and that i decide for to easily ask it to work out the place different all human beings is on the undertaking. i assume in all my rambling right here i'm attempting to declare that counting on the undertaking...no count if that is somethign that somebody is purely giving an opinion on then in all probability no longer yet while that is something technical perhaps yet they want somebody to place it in laymans words.

Maybe they can't read. Bashing religions seems to be the norm these days. Everyone is doing it. It's like the new fad. If you don't understand it, then you fear it, thus you must minimize it by poking fun.

And there are those who come here because they're only interested in bashing the nonbelievers. Some people come here to be antagonistic because you're going to find that people do that all over the net. R&S isn't "special" and it isn't "extra picked-on". There are trolls everywhere.

That's "why".

This is one of the biggest mistakes we make in communication.
As someone speaks, we are already figuring a respone, and don't LISTEN to what they are saying.
Learn to listen. Be thorough when reading. And don't jump to conclusioms. Ask questions to be sure what someone is saying. it might save you both a lot of embarassment.
