It's a no brainer, the STINGRAY. The vette is only going to go up in value, the stang has no place to go but DOWN.

The answer depends on why you are considering buying either. As daily transport the ne Mustang will almost certainly be more reliable, but the Stingray will benefit from regular use and as with all classic cars, will become more relaible the more it's used. Given that the real cost of running a car is the depreciation, the Stingray is the better financial choice. It is also tax exempt and you can get calssic insurance for very little indeed - the Mustang insurance will make your wallet weep. Buy the right Stingray (restrict yourself to specialist dealers) and you won't lose a bean over the ownership period. In terms of looks the Stingray (especially the early cars) have a grace that the new Mustang can't match.

If you find a good Corvette Stingray for a good price, I'd say go for it! That's going to worth a lot more in the future than the new Mustang and it was last much longer! Nowadays cars are being made mostly out of plastic... That is the reason they don't last very long. I guarantee you those older muscle cars are indestructable if you keep them from rusting. In anycase their value at this point only increases with time. I'd rather have a beautiful classic that not many people have, rather than a newer version of an old classic that everyone has.
In any case, the new Mustangs are not very reliable, though they are beautiful. I hear they have had a lot of transmission problems... In any case, I believe that Chevrolet is much more trustworthy than Ford.

I never did like the stingray but id get that over the new mustang. I am a vette lover but I don't like the body style of the C3 but at least you can drop a big block in it if you want. You will have more options with performance upgrades with the vette.

All right people can badmouth fords all they want but do they have the facts to back it up...anyway i will have to agree with the Chevy lovers on this one the vette is the better choice its a classic with real American made hp none of this computer **** not that the new mustang wouldn't be cool but the vette could even make you money in the future if you play your cards right!!! Plus gm parts are so much cheaper if your looking to hot rod the car you can afford to fix it.

I'm a chevy woman, I would get the corvette personally. It also depends on where you live. I live in Colorado where it snows 4 - 6 months a year. A 'vette is not practicle in the snow. It's a rear wheel drive which means the car would slide all over the place. I hate fords, so I would never buy one.

A new mustang? Its a motor with some wheels stuck on it. No personality. Stingray all the way.
Be careful, NewOrleans apparantly doesn't agree with me and took it upon himself to go into one of my questions and bad mouth me in the answer to the question (obviously in a way that was completely irrelevant to my other question). Ahole!
For God's sake we're talking about cars, I didn't insult anyone's mother. People are a little bit too sensitive, don't you think
