I have turned my answering machine off several times and it continues to turn itself back on. I cannot understand how a piece of electronic equipment can do this. You have to push a button under a cover to turn off/on and I am quiet confused as to why it still continues to come on by itself.

Some answer machines have a default setting allowing it to automatically turn on after a set number of rings. Actually, that's good to know in the event you are away from home and you forgot to turn in on.. call your home and let it ring until it picks up. Now it's on.

After someone calls and lets your phone ring for a long time the answering machine will come on by itself.

i think they are programmed to turn on after the phone rings so many times
