I think I understand your question. I'm mostly vegetarian, my husband requires meat. If I make enchiladas, I make half with my rice and beans, half with his taco meat. If I make what I call a main course meal, it's up to him to cook his own steak the way he wants. It works out really well!

Oh, and we've been together for 2 years.

Not that big a deal. You might get a really healthy meal occasionally and you won't be hanging out at fast food places much. Preferred restaurants are those with good salad bars.

In your own kitchen, just make sure you have some veggies, those vegitarian hamburger patties, and be willing to try things like beans and lentils. If your partner doesn't make a habit of insisting you eat vegitarian because they are, you can have a really good relationship. You will find yourself eating more veggies and fruits, but that's just healthy.
