All people are accountable to God whether they have “heard about Him” or not. The Bible tells us that God has clearly revealed Himself in nature (Romans 1:20) and in the hearts of people (Ecclesiastes 3:11). The problem is that the human race is sinful; we all reject this knowledge of God and rebel against Him (Romans 1:21-23). Apart from God's grace, God would give us over to the sinful desires of our hearts, allowing us to discover how useless and miserable life is apart from Him. This He does for those who reject Him (Romans 1:24-32).
In reality, it is not that some people have not heard about God. Rather, the problem is that they have rejected what they have heard and what is readily seen in nature. Deuteronomy 4:29 proclaims, “But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.” This verse teaches an important principle: everyone who truly seeks after God will find Him. If a person truly desires to know God, God will make Himself known.
The problem is, “there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God” (Romans 3:11). People reject the knowledge of God that is present in nature and in their own heart, and instead decide to worship a “god” of their own creation. It is foolish to debate the fairness of God sending someone to hell who never had the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Christ. People are responsible to God for what God has already revealed to them. The Bible says that people reject this knowledge, and therefore God is just in condemning them to hell.

First of all. God loves us all so much that I am sure He was reaching out to the parents in the last moments and we cannot know if they received Christ as Savior. Some things we will never know.
Without Christ we will not make heaven. God tries to reach us over and over and over again throughout our lives and even in our last moments.
Hell is a place of utter darkness and torment for all eternity, it will not be a big party for people to meet up with lost love ones or friends. Our lives here are very short compared to eternity. Everyone has the opportunity to know Christ before they die because since creation God has been known. It's not fair to say that whole races will go to heaven or hell because it's a decision for individuals whether they will choose Christ. I know Japanese Christians, they aren't all buddhist.

I am not a christian but I like to answer your question. For a fair religion, the criteria of going to heaven is depending on the deeds you have done during lifetime. It is not based on whether you are christian. Otherwise, the God is unfair as a good person will be condemned to hell not due to committing a sin but due to non believe of what other peoples' saying. Since young we are educated not to easily believe other people unless you know them well or there is proof of what they had said. Therefore, a fair & logic religion should be that the karma of people will decide where they will go after life.

No, he was wrong to make that decision. There is only one allegiance that no man is ever released from in his heart for any reason, and that is to God, not to any human being, no matter how beloved. Second question is also "no". There is no reward or solace in Hell, and he would certainly not be allowed to be with or even see anybody he loved in that place. The Bible says and implies nothing about groups of people or how they died- it speaks only to individuals. All true Christians, whether they were in Hiroshima or Dresden, certainly went to Heaven. Those who were not, didn't. Talking about the relative proportions in each city seems to me a waste of time. You can't know what was in those people's hearts when they died, and even if you could, what difference would it make? The Bible also says nothing at all about the fate of those people who haven't heard the Gospel, and I imagine there were quite a few of that kind in Japan.

First of all, The final answer is between him and God. Know one knows. But, there will be people that do not accept God.
Yes, it implies that Buddhist killed by the A bomb will go to hell.
And Yes, there are German Christians that died in firestorms because of bombs dropped by American and British Christians who are going to be in Heaven.
But all people died. Some horrible, some more peaceable. The ones that have accepted Jesus and follow his Commandments go to Heaven. The rest it is between them and God.

I'm Buddhist, and whether he accepted it or not, whether he went to heaven or not, that all depends on him. If Christ was founding father and died for us, he would have unconditional love just like parents. I believe that it's wrong when people say things like, "You are Buddhist. You'll go to hell." I believe that THEY are the ones who should go to hell for saying something like that because that's defying the word of God. I don't believe in heaven or hell, but please don't say something like that around people of other religions. People have said that to me, and I ignore because I love my religion, but it still hurts that people don't accept me because of that. If they were truly Christians, they would accept anyone with equal value.

No one knows what happened just prior to their deaths or at the point of death. Jesus may have revealed Himself to them and they may have accepted him and all are together.
The one thing also repeated in the Bible is that God is a just and fair God - to condemn someone for something they did not know, or in the case of the boy, condemning someone who is making a decision from a position of pain and loss would not be a just God so that is not what He would do.

I was raised in the christian faith of heaven and hell and some of the people I know do think that if you don't accept the Bible and their faith that you will go to hell. I believe that only god has the authority to decide who goes to heaven and who goes to hell and that it is how you live your life that counts more than how you believe whether it is Hindu, Christianity or any other faith.

If you do not accept Jesus into your heart, then sadly yes you will not go to heaven. If you ARE Christian and truly accept Jesus as your savior and love him with all your heart and soul, someday you will reunite with your fellow Christians in heaven and live eternally.
But don't think that just because you are a Christian god loves you more. No matter what you do who you are what color your skin is he will always and forever love you the same as everyone ells.

As a Christian I am told that those who do not accept Christ are doomed to hell.
As someone with many Hindu and Muslim friends, I cannot believe that. It is for me an article of faith that good people have good fates.
HOWEVER: nobody knows what happens after death. Nobody.
