They say you should brush your teeth for 2-3 minutes. How do you know if it's been 2-3 minutes without having a clock/watch around?

You buy yourself an Oral-B electric toothbrush by Braun.
It has a timer in it - and it really keeps your teeth and gums clean.

If you brush each area (2-3 teeth) 10 or 12 times before you move on to the next area, you've done an adequate job. You can count 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 in each area and you'll know you did enough.

You can get one of those hourglass-looking egg timers for a buck at WalMart and just keep it in the bathroom. I think they run for 2 minutes.

Just make sure you brush every tooth mate - the 2-3 min thing is only a guide line...
You could brush the same tooth for 3 mins if you wanted, but that would defeat the object.

Find a song you enjoy and time it. Sing the song in your head while you brush your teeth. It works great for kids and adults. Don't forget to brush your tongue too.

I don't worry about time. I brush according to how much my teeth hurt. More pain = more brushing.

when brushing ur teeth...make sure u don press hard on ur gums...and a good brushing generally includes good brushing....also use a tongue cleaner and flossing....its nothing wrong if ur brushing takes 2-3 minutes wen ure doin all this... don worry

ok,, this is how I taught my 6 year old

20 times up, 20 times down, 20 times left, and 20 times right. but not fast I actually taught her 1 mississippi and so on. I think it works weel
