I would explain to my children what exactly it is I believe compared to what others believe, and explain my reasons for my belief and why I disagree with the rest. Do not force your religion onto your child or try to shut them off from the rest of the worlds beliefs. I f you are rational with them now, it will make a difference when deciding their own beliefs later. If you do not tell them why u believe others are wrong then they will wonder if you are.
In the end it is their decision no matter what you do.

hi :}
i think you should for sure explain to your children your belief system and while they are very young help them understand that their are indeed different religions and different thoughts ,to protect children from others truth is not a necessary thing or should you .after all you are simply the guardian of their souls until they can mature and think for themselves .
so no harm done to them instilling your beliefs but also do not make it seem like they must believe this way or that .......they are a lot smarter then you think and should be respected in that they have there own free will .parents who simply want to brainwash their children or threaten them with hell and damnation may indeed get their way but i myself don't want to a parrot for a child ,i want a loving tolerant individual ,,,,so by all means tell them your truths and yet allow some open discussions for other peoples beliefs ,,,,,,,,,,,,,if you do this more often then not they will see by EXAMPLE that your beliefs have made you a rational ,loving kind ,non judgmental person .
and in turn this will make them feel the same way ....
always be open and non judgmental,allow them to explore ..

I think you should bring your children to God in what ever way you know how. If all you have are your beliefs then you are doing them no disservice in teaching them those beliefs. If they come home with questions that go against your beliefs, you can simply explain what your beliefs say about that specific thing. Your children will at least have a foundation to start with in Chritianity and that will teke them far. Even if they, later as adults, decide to follow another religion you will still have instilled in them some set of values and morals to go by.

Sure it's alright to teach them about your beliefs. But don't FORCE them if they want to believe other things. It's right to bring up children to believe as you--everyone does--but they are also individual human beings with minds of their own.
Children sometimes reject old ideas for a more secular humanistic world view. That is what's taught in schools now days.

No, it isn't. Until your children are old enough to make an objective choice about religion you should not tell them about yours.
