You should take some Vitamin E the day before, of, and after an arduous workout. The sore muscles are due to lack of oxygen in them, but the muscles still needs ATP, the body's "energy currency." Therefore, the body uses anaerobic respiration to get ATP so you can supply the muscles. The by product of anaerobic respiration is lactic acid. That is what is in your muscles and that is what is causing you soreness. Over time, the body will go back to aerobic respiration and supply your muscle with oxygen. This relieves the soreness in the muscle. I am assuming you had a workout. No pain. No gain.

something i found to help alot with sore or over worked muscles is to take and wet a towel a nice thick towel wet it with really hot water so hot u can see the steam coming off then wring it out a little so its not dripping say if your legs are the sore area lay that steamy towel over your sore muscles the heat will expand your blood vessels and eliminate some of that pain

Massage is beneficial for nearly any injury. Massage removes lactic acid (the reason of your soreness) from muscles. It also improves blood flow, oxygen and nutrients sent to the massaged injury, hence speading up recovery.

Anther advantage for injured areas is heat. Heat also increases nutrients, oxygen and blood flow to the area.

Soreness might be a sign of overtraining. It mostly occurs when your body is not used to that kind of training. In order to get rid of it, you must slowly build up your workout time and intensity, so the body has sufficient time to adapt to your needs.

Take some ibuprofen ( I usually take three motrin) with a tall glass of water and put some heat packs on your sore spots. That should do the trick.

Try drinking CytoMax or equivalent during before and during exercise. It will reduce the build-up of lactic acid in the muscles during exercise.

sleep w/ a heating pad on your sore muscles.... it works great... also, if no one is around to give you a massage.... try bengay... its kinda stingy but soothing at the same time.... just dont put it on your friends nose while he's sleeping cause he might rub it in his eye :)
