I had a friend who bred them. Very nice dogs, very sweet, and VERY expensive.

Find a good breeder referral by going to www.akc.org or talking to people at dog shows. This is a breed that can have health problems - you should get the best one you can!

You can also find info about the breed clubs on the akc site - they have a rescue group where you might get an older dog for less money.

The best breeders will be members of their breed club, promoting healthy dogs with great temperaments. They should ask you a bunch of questions to make sure their puppy will be getting a good home. If all a "breeder" seems to care about is whether your check will clear, you can be sure he won't care a week later when the pup is dying from distemper or parvo and you want your money back.

Whatever you do, DON'T go to a pet shop, a flea market or buy one sight-unseen off the Internet!!!! You'll pay top dollar for what is usually a poor quality puppy mill dog that is often sick and may have falsified registration papers. And you'll be supporting one of the cruelest industries in the country. http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=cruelty_puppymills

Hi - Yes, I have heard of them (and seen lots!). My boyfriend had one who lived to a ripe old age. They are very sweet and affectionate dogs and can be very enthusiastic when happy and meeting new people.

I think they are one of the most popular dog breeds in the UK, particularly for families as they are very good with children.

Yes, my cavaliers name was Reagan, he passed away last October. Me and my husband couldn't hardly even talk about him after because it hurt so much. He was affectionate and he stayed right with me when I was pregnant and would put his head on my belly in the bed at night (he slept with me). I will probably get another one after I move, they are expensive and I want one free of health defects.

I have heard of them and seen them . But never personally owned one. I have a couple of friends that have them, one even breeds them. To me they are too small, but seem smart and like a good dog.

i've heard and saw them - they are a lapdog and very loyal - i heard that in the olden days - people took them to bed so any bugs (fleas) would get on the dog and not the owner!

the only reason we didnt get one is because we wanted to rescue a dog
