A friend is having a baby. She is Hispanic married to Anglo. Her little girl speaks almost no English so I want to make her a t-shirt that says "I'm the big Sister" in both Spanish and English.
Hurry please, the shower is in 4 hours! Thanks!

Hope it's not too late! Soy la hermana mayor is absolutely correct. If you are going to add an exclamation point (not sure if you will; I would), in the Spanish version you put an upside-down exclamation point at the beginning (like a lower-case letter i) and a regular one at the end. Great gift idea!

Yo soy la hermana mayor .

Let me remind you in Spanish the letter H is always silent , and J is the H sound .

they would not say I'm the BIG sister..they would say I'm the OLDEST sister...Yo soy la hermana principal. or "mayor" why don't you just ask your friend?
