So I finally took the plunge and got a perm (I have naturally blonde hair that I died black around..... 4months ago? It's fairly healthy - especially for having been colored a fe wmonths ago)
Well the ladie puts all of the rods in my hair and then goes to answer the phone. She comes back from answering the phone and starts to take them out. I can promise you it was not more than 3 minutes that she left the perm/rods in!!!! (I know because I was watching the clock and it was still the same commerical break on the TV!) I tried to tell her that it had only been 3 minutes but she protested and took the rods out.
Now I have gotten a perm a every few years and it ALWAYS perms very well. But this time? I don't even have a wave. It's slightly flippy at the ends and thats it. It barely even smells permed. It dried my hair a *little*, but I don't think it did that much at all. It feels almost exactly like it did before the 'perm'.

Do I have to wait a month to reperm? It's so ugly!!!! HELP?

Trust! You do not want to perm your hair right away, it will do more DAMAGE than good. Way more damage, in the mean time try a shampoo and conditioner that smoothes and moisturizes, like Pantene Pro-v. Wait at least a month or two...

If I were you, I would deal with it for a few months, until my hair got stronger. Whether she left it in long enough or not, it still has an effect on your hair's natural oils, which were probably stripped off after those few minutes. Plus the fact you colored it a "little". Put it in a ponytail, or in a cute clip and leave it in an updo. If you get anxious, and impatient, and put another process in it, you could seriously damage your hair, it could all fall out, do you want to take that chance ? If you HAVE to re-color it, use natural henna dyes found in a health food store. They are just as nice, better for your hair than regular dye, and yes, they have all kinds of cool colors. be the smart one, wait it out.

Thirty - count 'em, 30 - days before you can perm again. The ammonia will burn your scalp, and your hair will end up as brittle as twigs if you do it now.

Just saying.

Yikes....sounds like you need a new hair stylist!!!! Unfortunately, 30 days.... until then, just blow dry your hair out straight, or use hot rollers, etc. Whatever it takes for you to get through the 30 days... Sorry

Like the others who answered before me, wait at least a month, if not a bit more, those chemicals are harsh.
