Whoa!!! This is deep...let me see...! I would have to say , "YES!" Uh, that took me about 2 seconds!!! Our "feelings" are connected to our "emotions" and our "minds"! We do control these things!! We respond to them and react to them!! The feelings we have are the freedom...the freedom is the feeling...am i making sense?

Usually you cannot control your brain chemistry and therefore cannot control how you feel. It's like the weather. Some days it's sunny, some days it rains. Why? No reason, it's just what going through at the moment.
Our freedom is one of the will, not the flesh.
You decide how you respond to your circumstances,
you do not let your feelings control your words or actions.
Consequently, we have many practical freedoms:
Freedom of speech,
Freedom of assembly,
Freedom of the press,
Freedom of religion
and so forth.
Societies which do not recognize human rights don't function so well as those which do, which our president and our foreign adversaries should both recognize.

Outside factors influence how we feel so no, I do not think we control the way we feel all of the time. Some people have better control over their feelings than others but it is obvious by the hatred and vitriol spread around on this forum, most people do not have much control over their feelings and/ or reactions to them.

We are free to choose. There are always choices. One of the choices we have is how we feel. You may not be able to control what is happening in your space but you can control how you react (or not) to it. See the movie "Life is Beautiful".

Emotions are a reflex action not a response to something. A "thought out response" (choice) is what gives freedom (or free will).
