I think there are two primary reasons. One is they have been taught these folktales by people they look up to, their parents, their teachers, their preachers. It would be difficult to admit that these mentors of theirs are as clueless as they are. The second is, if they have spent their lives believing in the mythology, it is a painful realization that their lives of faith, all those precious, irreplaceable minutes and hours, were for naught.

O.K. Chew on this for a while. We are all begotten of God in the spirit. We are His spirit children. In a sense that actually makes us all brothers and sisters. Jesus is the only begotten in the flesh. So, he possess the physical attributes of God the Father. I know a lot of Christians will cringe at the idea of God the Father having an actual physical body (not a ball of gas) but you want me to answer intellectually.

I come to a realization that people who question contradictions in the bible are either taking sentences out of context for the purpose of drumming up controversy, or are misunderstanding the bible either from ignorance or brainwashing from non-christians. Don't take this as an answer from a close minded christian, I have investigated many questions in the past and this is the conclusion I always arrive at.

It seems normal to question the bible and acknowledge that there are things we do not understand. An analogy might be having a family member who we question on some points. We want to defend that relative inspite of questions - because of a committment, a relationship to a person.

if you look at the bible and understand, it(the bible) suggest that Jesus was actually fathered by God.
But David was fathered by a man named Jesse.
The book of Psalms is a book of poetry and sometimes prophecy.
Jesus himself quoted prophecy that pertains to him from the book of Psalms.
Just read it all in context guy.
God bless you.

Faith my man... If it ain't blind, it ain't faith.
faith transcends everythings, even atheists throwing obvious paradoxes about their religion to them..
with faith even lies can turn to truths...
Have faith...............pick the right God
