First, get him neutered if he isn't already. ( As he gets older, and remains in tact he'll become restless---and he won't stay the nice pet you have now when the testesterone kicks in). Secondly, you can drown the tick individually in oil -- salad oil -- so the tick will remove his head from the skin. (Insects breathe thru spiricles lining the abdomen.... they panic. You can use liq. dish detergent too, but sometimes it kills them a bit too fast. You have to sit there with the dog until the tick lets go. ) Then drop it in a class of alcohol.
I've had good luck with Revolution or Frontline -- a thin absorbable liquid in individual tubes. Use latex disposable gloves when you apply it between the shoulderblades monthly.

Vaccinations are bad for you and your dog!
A vaccinated person/dog is MORE likely to get a disease than a non-vaccinated person/dog. The whole theory of vaccination is flawed. It causes a weakening of the immune system thus making those who are innoculated more susceptible to disease.
There are so many awful side effects to vaccination that it should be considered extremely dangerous.
Just sit back and think for a while.
Is there any sense in injecting a disease directly into the bloodstream.
We have been subjected to an awful mind control program to enable the drug manufacturers to make a fortune.

If you see a tick on your dog, carefully remove it with a pair of tweezers. Becarefull, you want to get the head and all, dont pull to hard. Then I would go to your vet and get some advantage for fleas and ticks. Works VERY well all month long and its water proof.

Well you could just pull them out but the head can get stuck in there skin. I have this little hook thing thats specialy designed to remove ticks, look in a pet shop or something and you'd porbably see something like that.
