I am just suppose to choose one of the vast engeneering courses because I will join campus not long after. but I need someone to tell me some information about the two fields because I am really interested in those fields as well as electronics. If you also know about which of the two is most growing, you can give me some clue.

The best advice I can give you is to choose the field you like most! Choosing an engineering field based solely on economic or growth factors will surely end in disaster! A field that is hot today may not be the "hot" field years later. If you are not sure, the first year engineering courses are general for all fields, so you will get a sampling of all engineering fields before you will have to specialize. Computer Engineering is definitely more logic based, developing more efficient algorithms and the like. Mechanical Engineering is definitely more hands-on! You will (hopefully) get to see the structure you are designing at the end of the project. Mechanical Engineering also has more computational aspects nowadays, as much of the structure is simulated with the computer.

Electrical and Computer engineering are very similar, they take a handful of different courses.
Mechanical engineering is very different.

Elec and Comp deal with circuits, computers, communications, electromagnetics and the like.
Mech deals with thermodynamics, forces, properties of materials and such.

Mech is generally the largest engineering department, while elec is slightly larger than comp. Elec is growing the fastest, as it has become a very liberal discipline (ie. it can branch off in any direction). Elec and Comp, in general, also pay better.

It really depends on what you are looking for. In general computer engineering pays better after graduating, but to some people the topic doesn't interest them. Mechanical Engineering usually appeals more to people who like to tinker and like to "see" the theory. Computer engineering is usually less physical and more algorithm based. If you can't decide, take introductory classes in both and see if the industry jobs in one are more appealing to you.

Choose the field you enjoy more. For me it was Mechanical Engineering, but that doesn't mean I didn't and haven't had to learn quite a bit about computers.

Both have similar prospects. More important is to choose what you like better since your advancement depends on being great at what you do.
