The best way to find out is to ring the insurance company the main driver is with and ask them for a quote by adding you

It is something like £3000 for a fully comprehensive for the first year you get your licence if you are under 25 yo.
But most insurance companies do not insure provisional drivers so you will be having a tough time trying to find the right insurance company.

Good luck

Lots, lots, and a lot more. II would have cost an extra £800, or probably more to drive my father's grp. 7 Fiesta with L-Plates when I was a learner, though I was (and still am) obviously a young male.

Obviously try shopping around a good bit, because even at your tender age, some will quote better than others. For example now, although I've now passed my test, Direct Line would demand around £2k from me for a Fiat Seicento Sporting, wheras eCar was just over £900 (both TPFT), and I'm 19 with 0 NCB.

If you have to ask......dont start driving.

Insurance for starter drivers is way beyond what can be called reasonable today, and all thanks to the young tearaway drivers in the first place.

Someone told me the other week that they were asking £1500 from him.

More than the car is worth probably !
