I know where you are coming from. One of my neighbours has two dogs as soon as they start to bark he shuts them up but my other neighbour has two German Shepard's and he leaves the bloody things barking or says stop it dogs
which they cant hear as they are barking too loudly!!!!!! Dont know who's worse him or the dogs. He pisses me off if you hadn't guessed.

Dealing with bad neighbors is a nightmare. First, try asking them nicely. Make a video tape and show them how annoying this is. Offer to split the cost of having the dogs surgically debarked or buying bark collars. Personally, I'd move before I'd live next to a neighbor like that, but sometimes that's not an option. I have a neighbor who goes to work early and slams his car door shut outside my window every morning. I've padded the glass with those closed-cell foam mats they make for gym flooring and keep a noisy fan or wind machine on while I sleep. That helps a lot.

Some fools recommend killing the dogs, which is ridiculous. It's really not the dogs' fault and killing a pet dog is a felony in most states, especially if it's on your neighbor's property. Bad neighbors are big on retaliation. If you kill his dog, who's to say he won't burn down your house? And his next dog might be worse. If you're intent on committing a crime, kill your neighbor instead. (Just kidding!)

Most areas have noise or nuisance laws - sometimes calling the cops can help, sometimes it can make it worse. Animal control will only seize the dogs if they are abused (ie, no shelter, no water, no food, etc). If you don't mind risking a war, get witness statements from your other annoyed neighbors. If the cops won't help, I'd try calling your local TV station and see if they want to do a human interest story on lousy neighbors. Show them as much documentation as you can, pictures and a log of how many times you have called the cops and gotten no help.

Hmmm... Make an audio tape of the dog barking, call your neighbor (from a pay phone!) and play the tape really loud at three in the morning?

Sometimes it will help to calmly and thoughtfully have a chat with the neighbor.....at least it should be the first action taken. Some folks are genuinely ignorant of the fact that their dogs are disturbing others.

It can be reported to the police....it does constitute animal cruelty if tied or just left out all day or night in a yard. There are now laws to protect animals which are good for you *as the neighbor) because if they have to comply with laws protecting their animals, you will have peace and quiet.

I do kind of like the installation of some sort of ultrasonic device as another posted! That may(in a humane way) drive them to the other side of their yard, at least protecting your side from noise. It is always unfair to unleash anger on the dogs...it is in no way their fault that they have ignorant dummies for owners.

This is pretty sneeky but maybe it will work! I don't know how big your property is, but there is a product out there called "Bark Solver". One works up to 25 feet and the other 40 feet. It sends out an ultrasonic noise that annoys them until they stop. You can buy it from www.petedge.com. It is small and if you got it as close to your neighbor's property as you can, the dogs would bark on the oppsite side of the yard making it quieter for you! Hey, you could even ask your neighbor's neighbor if he would put one up! Then maybe they would be quiet!

My neighbor breeds dogs, and they are ALWAYS barking, it drives me crazy. I live in the country though, so there isn't very much I can do about it. My sister has that same problem, she lives in the city, she just calls the cops on the neighbors and they take care of it. If it gets to the point where you would want to call it in, go for it, you don't have to give out a name.

you may ***** to the right police or sheriff government and permit them to handle the barking canines. that is THEIR activity! in case you're taking the undertaking into your very own hands, the baking canines situation could be solved, till the detention center is interior of attain and you may nonetheless pay attention the canines from detention center! call the police as in many situations as had to get the undertaking dealt with. And to boot, that isn't the canines fault! It must be experienced precise by ability of the owner to no longer bark uncontrollably. he's the undertaking, no longer the canines!

My brother was like that, I mean he had a dog like that. He was also the kind that when his neighbour complained blamed his neighbour for complaining. It was a stupid little Jack Russel mutt. The stupid part was that my brother hated that dog for barking all the time but just could not stand being corrected on anything, especially by his neighbour, but also by anybody else in general.

My neighbor had two dogs who used to bark like crazy. Finally, all the nighbors were complaining so they got the dogs shock collars and everytime they would bark, they would get shocked. So basically the scenario was now... bark... shock... yelpyelp yelp. :( It was really sad. I prefer the barking.
