He was likely weened too early, it happens. At 3 months he should be eating a high quality dry kitten foos, that is all he needs. Some cats just like to suck, I had a cat who use to suck on the end of his tail... The eventually(sometimes) out grow this stage. If he's bugging the dog, the dog will let him know! As for milk cats can't diegst cows milk and you'll end up with a kitten with a tummy ach and gas! Wiskas sells a milk for cats it's lactose free, I find it gives them diarreha and gas as well. So I'd stick to water!

Cats are lactose intolerant and, at best, it will probably give your kittens the runs. But then you could end up with a cat like mine who vomits 5 minutes after getting into the tiniest bit of milk.
There is a product called Cat Sip;
"Give your cats the real milk they crave, without the digestive problems. Regular milk often causes diarrhea in cats because they can't digest it. This wholesome Grade-A milk is low in fat, lactose-free, contains taurine for a healthy heart and eyes, and is easily digested by cats.
It is ultra-pasteurized and contains an enzyme that breaks down milk sugar, so your cat doesn't have to. Serve alone, or for finicky eaters, pour the milk over food, and even the most finicky cats will devour it heartily. Resealing pack ensures quality and freshness that will last 7-10 days in refrigerator after opened. Pour 1/4 cup per serving. 8 oz. carton contains 4 servings."

But be cautious....Cat Sip ALSO made my male puke.

It sounds like your kitten was taken from mom too early. This sucking behavior may end up being a life long habit.
As for milk yes you can give a kitten/cat milk as long as it doesn't cause diarreha or vomiting. Many cats love it and it is a good treat given in small amounts. They also sell special milk for cats in pet stores and in some grocery stores and stores like Wal-mart. You can also give her cottage cheese and plain yogurt.

I suppose you can give them a little, but Professionals say milk is not good for cats. Different types of acidic content.
I definately would NOT give them a baby formula substitute. Far too much sugar in that!
Sugar is not good for cats or dogs.
Not sure about lactose free milk either.
I'd say at 3 months the kitten is ready for canned kitten food.

Sure. Don't buy milk for people, tough. Also, use moderation as it will cause loose stool.
The milk made for kittens has nutrients in them that aren't found in milk from cattle.
Go to the pet store and buy milk replacer for kittens. You could also try www.drsfostersmith.com.
Try feeding him cat dry cat food, as it is good for his teeth.
If he is a picky eater, you can mix dry food with canned food.
Good luck

at 3 months the kitten should be old enough to eat on it's own. even dry food. but if you are having trouble getting him to eat, try canned food, a little tuna, or even chicken or turkey baby food. there is no need to feed a 3 month old kitten milk. my kitten is only 6 weeks and she is eating dry food. they still tend to try to get milk - mine tries to suckle on my clothes, it's just habbit for them.
if you're really bent on milk though - don't feed him regular cow milk - go to the pet store and get some kmr kitten formula. if you have any problems getting him to eat though, you should see a vet if it persists.

People milk causes the runs in cats/kittens....runs can be dangerous to kittens....
try simulac or goats milk...much better idea for kittens and safer should be able to get both at a regular grocery store.....

Ask the vet.
My advice, yes. it's a kitten. Kittens have to drink milk.Stop feeding her it at the age of 10 months.

Read every word of Pharfly's answer, follow her advice EXACTLY, and you'll be fine. :-)
And P.S. 'Nursing' on other animals, things, people, etc. has nothing to do with being weaned too early. Many kittens/cats just do it....some well into adulthood or for life. It's no biggie, and doesn't mean a thing.
