You can watch your calorie content without "dieting". Eat only one portion or serving of food at each meal. Drink more water and less soda or juices. Cut back on bread, potatoes, and pasta. Exercise then will be the key to your "fat" loss. You should try to do 30 minutes of aerobic exercise daily (running, lap swimming, biking. calisthenics, etc.). Add to that some basic flexibility exercises for toning and conditioning, and do some push-ups and sit-ups daily.

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.
On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.
Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

Eating disorders seem to work. KIDDING!!!! Seriously, you just need to eat healthy and exercise regularly, just like everyone else said. Just understand that if you burn off fat, you probably will be losing some weight. Muscle is a lot heavier than fat, but your body will burn fat before it burns muscle. If you're really that concerned about it(and your parents are no help), talk to your doctor about balancing your daily calorie intake.

this is important... if you want to lose fats but not weight(muscle mass), never never never, go on a diet... when you do diet, your body will react and start eating its own muscles as they need more calories to maintain... as a result, you'll lose muscles, weight but still look flabby... to tone up, try jogging for around 45mins to an hour at least 3 times per week... try to fit in swim sessions in between if you do have the time... drink more water and eat less carbs... but then again, its easier said than done... you'll need tons of determination...
all the best!!!

A diet is not something you "go on", it is a lifestyle. The american culture has taught you that concept. Aerobic execise to start, along with crunches. But to be healthy and not create fat you must eliminate white sugar,. it is in many things. Get your sugars from fruit only. White sugar is empty calories and poison to the body. Drink plenty of quality water. peace.

Lots of exercise. Walk at least 30 minutes a day. Just eat healthier. Stay away from places like McDonalds unless you have one of their salads.

Jogging is very good for burning fat.
Swimming works out every muscle in your body. It doesn't directly focus on abs but it will help tone you up.
I so need to get to a gym too A.S.A.P. GOOD LUCK!!
