use sheet suspenders and clip them underneath the cushions...you can get them at linens and things and bed bath and beyond type stores.

Usually people tuck a pole or a broom stick between the back part of the couch and the cushion back. (In other words the is on top of the slipcover where it touches the spring section of the couch) I hope that makes sense...

I seen on a home deco show-- they tucked the fabric as far down as they could into the couch then placed an old broom stick along the tuck. I've never tried it but they swore it works

go to the nearest home decorating or home accent/accessory store (Linens n Things, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc.) and look for plastic 'toilet paper-like' tubes made just for that purpose. Smaller diameter PVC pipe will do a similar job, but is a little heavier and not quite as neat-looking. Also look for garter-like elastic grippers and spiral shaped 'twist pins' for use as needed.

Try extension rods - heard that might work...the rubber caps on the end is supposed to keep the fabric tucked it..

If you have enough material, you can sew small pieces of Velcro on the corners you need to tuck.

try the pole things, my mom actually rolls up old magazines and shoves them into the folds. In addition, you could buy some of the nubby, drawer lining, that guys use to keep things from rolling around in their tool box. It should keep the materials from shifting on each other.

Try upholstery nails. You could drive them into the wooden frame of your sofa. The holes are very small and wouldn't be noticable.
