You will feel (inner) peace as a result of willingly (not because you've been told) acting out of love, with compassion and forgiveness toward "the other".

Christians, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Sihks and others have been taught that to love God, our Creator, with their whole being and above all "things" and to think and act with compassion and forgiveness toward their fellow (wo)men is the right way (path) for any person to live and achieve inner PEACE.

According to those wisdoms killing, or even hating and judging, is Not an option. (Someone should tell some Christians or others who claim to kill in the name of "religion".)

Just imagine! If all "Christians", Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Sihks and Jews would willingly (not because they have been told) act out of compassion toward the "others" (as they were taught!) there truly would be peace on Earth!

Unfortunately we are not perfect and to bear "our cross" often seems too hard (or illogical, or "unscientific, or "unrealistic"). - No, I'm not perfect either!

That's why we have to learn to be honest to ourselves and admit that we have failed, again and again and again, and resolve to (at least try to) do better next time!

Because WE are not perfect we also have to forgive others for offences they may have committed against us.

We can then ask for forgiveness for ourselves and get "peace of mind" - until the next time.

As someone put it: " Love (I don't mean sex :-) is the answer - whatever the question".

Yes, but not at the moment of forgiving someone. I feel the love and happiness after my anger is over.

I feel free when I forgive someone. I am grateful when I am able to forgive someone who would have otherwise dug into me with their issues or injustices. I realize that it is more important for me to let go and forgive them than to hate them or seek revenge. When I can let go of the harm they have caused me, even if it is only in my own perception of their action, I can be open to other possibilities.

I am unable to forgive. Only God can forgive. Jesus did not say I forgive them on the Cross. He said, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." I ask God to fill me with His love and His forgiveness. Then I let it go. Otherwise I keep thinking about it and can't let it go.

I feel the peace within when I pray for someone who has hurt or injured someone. I feel God's grace fill my soul and I feel deep gratitude for that grace that allows me to do something very contrary to my humanity, when I want anger and revenge rather than wishing peace for that other person. Letting go of those feelings allows me to be filled with God's grace and love in my letting go of the anger and resentment and peace comes into my heart. It is not a one time thing, its a continuous struggle to keep fighting back the urge to revert to my own anger and it does keep trying to sneak back in, but through the grace of God, He heals me over and over again, as many times as it takes.

Yes, I feel self love. When we forgive it is not to condone someones actions, it is to heal ourselves.

Do you see the furniture when you walk through a dark room? The furniture is still there, whether you see it or not (though your shins will soon feel it).
Love is still there when you act in love whether you get a rise of endorphins or not.
