Don't just stand there! If you feel the call and you want your heart to race again, how can you expect this to happen if you are not running towards Christ?

I will tell you that if you start to run towards him, only un-truths will slow you down. Seek the truth where it is upheld. If you want your brethren to help you run the race and cheer you on, find a "coming home" or "welcome home" program at a Catholic church in your area. You won't be disappointed. Be careful though ... you may blow out a few shoes along the way!

Peace, and God bless!

Join the club. Organized religion has become one big money-making machine. It would seem that little is donated to the church members, spiritually or monetarily. It is always "give me more and more, " while the pastors lead a life of luxury.
Dogma is on the rise in many, many churches, and it is this dogma that drives sane people away. IN reality, your spiritual life is between you and God...you need no one intervening on your behalf. Good luck and peace.

Um how do I put this gently?

Church is really not about us. Its about GOD. We can bring our burdens to church and lay them down asking for spiritual help from pastors and our brothers and sisters. Church is about what we can do for the body of Christ. There are Churches today that are slightly more then a country club. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Go to your old church and listen to what is being said and how much time is given to what topics and teachings. This should give you a clear perspective on what they desire as a organization. Is it more members? Money? Then by all means bail out and run for your wallet and soul. Asking for donations is cool but more then once and spending more then 5 minutes out of an hour and 1/2 is real bad news. Draw close to GOD and he will draw close to you. Ask for His guidance. Tell GOD what you told us here. Find a Bible teaching church and party on! We are going to heaven. Think about that. WE ARE REALLY GOING TO BE WITH GOD. really.
:) GOD bless ya

Faith is an inside job ! Not something , someone gives you . I don't agree with most churches . Therefore I have a
personal relationship with God through Prayer and Meditation .
It is a very fulfilling and spiritual way for me at least , to live .

A lot of other people have that problem. A lot of it has to do with the church you're attending and it's members. I can remember enjoying going to church, everyone was so nice. Now they seem to be caught up in their daily problems and don't really care if you loose your faith. I solved my problem by staying home and watching the 700 club. Seeing all the miracles of God, that I never would have known about otherwise, has completely renewed my faith. I hope the same happens for you. Just remember your reward is not of this earth.

Well in answering your question ,I look at your comments and see your relationship with Christ isnt a close one anymore, ive struggled in the same way,and still do at times.then i think ok what brings a person close to Christ and i would say its when we are walking closest to Him with our actions..and believe that is where we find contentment.if we look to find contentment in what is Christ doing for me we will become discontent ..He already has done what he is going to do for us and thats set us free from sin and death .i believe we find contentment doing what we can do for Him ..loving the ones the world hates. wipeing away tears of a hurting person, lending a hand to someone in need ..being a friend to the one who others shun..forgiving someone who doesnt deserve it..holding the hand of someone who is sick and just being there for them..
Im starting to understand that we Christians are the temple of the Holy Spirt ,and we are the ones who decide weather or not God is going to move on this earth , and to do that we have to start the process by our actions. as we move in the things of God wich is Love , then we find contentment..If we do not move in the things of God then i think we can greive the Holy Spirt and that brings about discontentment and depression..I also believe we can only recieve as we give ..we are like a glass of water if we are not giving away what God has filled us with we fill up to the rim and thats it ..but if we are constantly pouring out to others what God has filled us with, if leaves room for God to fill us anew..in a new and refreshing way ..
I pray you do not become discontent with God as i have in the past , but use what you are feeling to find a new and exciting way to serve God ,so many times we are left feeling the way you do i believe because God is now trying to get us to step into new things, he needs those ones that take what they have learned and carry it into the world...good luck and my God bless you

One doesn't necessarily have to go to church to get a blessing.
There are all kinds of community events where one can meet
nice people. And they don't cost you nothing. I once attended
a poetry reading at the local museum. There were refreshments afterward, and it was very enjoyable. It might even be an
opportunity for YOU to inspire someone else.

It sounds like you want to have a relationship with Christ. First you have to pray to God and tell him you want to know and love Jesus but you are having trouble. He may have given you this trial for a reason. You need to immerse yourself in the bible and in prayer and fellowship with other Christians. Also, if you haven't read the book 'purpose driven life' it's very good, it brought me much closer to Jesus.

Also, you need to understand that you don't go to church because it makes YOU feel good and helps YOU. You go to church to worship God, whether you feel anything or like it or not. Everything isn't about you.

You should re-examine your beliefs.
Do you really believe in your religion? If you do, you should keep praying and search to find your relationship with him. If not, you may want to find a religion which suits you better.
If you don't want to leave your religion, you should realize that church isn't really necessary. You should just follow your heart and just do what you think is right for your faith.
Blessed be and good luck.

Learn to play the piano, paint, write, etc. Find a creative outlet. There you will find reward, happiness and perhaps eternal fame.

Don't waste anymore of your precious, fleeting life minutes in church or trying to understand the Bible. It is the greatest hoax of all time and you will never, ever be rewarded for your struggle!

You will find peace when you rediscover YOUR life and live it to the fullest.
