Learning about a breed is one way to learn how to train your dog. I am not sure how much research you have done on Dachshunds, but can only assume that not much has been done.

Dachshunds are very difficult to train. They are stubborn, and need consistency. If you catch them peeing in the house, stop them and put them outside immediately. Praise them when they have gone outside, and also make sure that they go outside frequently (At least every 1-2 hours) as they are not ones for holding it very long. When you are gone... crate them. They will consider their crate their den and will not go potty in there.

I do not recommend pee pads as this only reinforces going potty inside. Once they get used to using a pee pad, they will depend on that rather then going outside.

Praise Praise Praise is the big key with them. Food is also a big motivator with them. Give them small treats when they have gone potty, or you could even look into getting a doggie door so that there is constant access to the outside.

Another thing to consider, is your Dachshund neutered/spade? That could be another reason as well.

(BTW The spelling is DACHSHUND).

The same way you would any other dog. you punish the animal when he goes outside for toilet purposes and reward hinm when he does.
If you are in a place where the dog cannot go outside often enough or cannot have a dog enterence in the door you would need a litter box. When you see the animal about to degan its business stop it and make it go out side or place it in the litter box. It will not take long for the animal to get the message.

dachshunds are very smart. Just let it know when it is making you happy. all puppies have a very small bladder, so you have to make sure it goes out often, like every 3 hours. Take it out after it eats. my mini dachshund was completely trained at 8 wks, and would whine at the door
