I do not know if that is America in that passage, but I can see where you'd think that. Take a look at Revelations 17 & 18.

America is not found in the Bible. The word “America”, and there is a good reason for that.
Christopher Columbus left Spain and he didn't know where he was going. When he reached America, he didn't know where he was and when he got back to Spain, didn't know where he had been and that's like three-point sermon of some preachers today. God help us - but then Amerigo Vespucci came and the country was named after him, both North and South America. I'm glad we don't have to say, where are you from? - Amerigo. It’s America, but it was named after Vespucci. Now, in Revelation, we don't have a full description. We cannot go by the names of a nation because who knew that Amerigo Vespucci was going to found America, so we have to look for characteristics. Nothing in Isaiah 18, Jeremiah 50:51 and Revelation chapter 18 fit the descriptions and characteristics of Babylon, Iraq. So it's not Iraq. It is the United States of America. Let's give them a few examples.
Four different characteristics that I just gave to you. First, it's going to be a latter day Super Power.
That’s not Iraq. That's America and that's Jeremiah 50, verse 12.
Secondly, a great nation of wealth.
That’s Jeremiah 51, verse 7. In fact, when the wealth is being destroyed in Revelation chapter 18, verse 10, 17 and 19, it says, for in one hour is thy judgment come, for in one hour, so great riches has come to naught and for one hour, is she made desolate.
And a nation performing great space exploitations.
Oh, that's chapter 51 of Jeremiah, verse 53.
And lastly, a nuclear nation.
Jeremiah chapter 51, verses 53 and 58.

Isa 18 sounds like Babylon to me, but who knows if Babylon has moved.
Revelations 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, maybe America is the great eagle.

Honestly, you could interpret some of what was written within Genisis as the earth was inhabited by aliens and became inbred with humans...there are just some parts of the bible that are so irrelevant or vague to our understanding its complete meaning, since there has been so much time and rewritten interpretations that have taken place; we don't really know the meaning/context of some of the things that were written.
Genisis 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

America is not mentioned anywhere in the bible and certainly not in Isiah, Chapter 18. Here it is. If you can find America in that you're a better man than me.
The Old Testament of the King James Version of the Bible
The Book of the Prophet Isaiah
Chapter 18
18:1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
18:2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!
18:3 All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.
18:4 For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
18:5 For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.
18:6 They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
18:7 In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.

You can believe what you like, but there is no mention of America in the bible. When Isaiah was written, America's existence was unknown.

seriously doubt America was mentioned in THE HOLY BIBLE as America wasn't well known in the Ancient world at that period of time. therefore the places referred to must have been well known or at the least more familiar places to those writing to and about particular locations.

Oh yeah right. You know, some one like you once said that the holy Hindu scripts in India contain large documents and records of the law of gravitation, geometry an other scinetific stuff.
This is exactly what I was saying since time and again.
The Americans always think that they are the supreme and are superior compared to every one else in this vast universe.
I have only one advise to you capitalist Americans:
Get a life.
Stop reading the bible.
Kick every books on religion.

The Chittim mentioned in the Judeo/Christian Bible are I
believe the descendents of Atlantis. I've studied many thigs, and
they all claim to be truth, thought they say different things.
Atlantis was an international place, and even communed with
extraterrestrials. But the dominant race was the Red race.
The Chittim mentioned in the Book, migrated to Africa, mainly
Egypt, and the Americas.Tthe "ships of Chittim" in Daniel
that bring fear to Babylon, are I feel the United States. The land of the Red peoples today.

I have never seen or even been able to attribute anything in the Bible concerning America. Makes you wonder where we are during the last days.
