Do people still honestly agree that it's ok for people to come here just for the benefits? I think skilled workers should be allowed in. People who can benefit the economy not drain it. Do you agree? I'm talking about the UK by the way.

Oh, if the UK, I have nothing to say.

For the US I would say that the reason our country and all countries limit how many poor can come is because even if they work and pay all applicable taxes, poor people don't pay that much in taxes. Others have to cover their children's education, their health care, etc. Each one ends up as a cost, and funds for services have to be stretched resulting in inevitable, incremental degradation of services.

Here, we let some poor come, due to a basic admiration for those working hard to build a new life (legally). However, those who come above our limits are ignoring the fact that their better life is at our expense and that we have said 'this many and no more'. The 11 to 20 million illegal immigrants have ruined schools and services in areas where they concentrate, and it isn't only those looking for a handout that are the problem. The problem is that they don't see things we give to our own poor, like subsidized education, as a 'hand out', but it is.

There is no such thing as handouts for people who don't have a proper ID. I'm illegal and I pay taxes, never got any handouts. That's IMPOSSIBLE in the US, can't say anything about UK, but I'm sure you're even better organized than US.

I don't know the logistics of UK immigration; But in the USA it is very hard for immigrants to get "handouts" as you stated. Most of them can only get support through local churches or grass roots organizations.

I think that anyone who comes here and doesn't want to pay tax's and fallow our laws and become a legal citizen needs to go home..i understand they need to work..but let them do it in their own country and leave our country alone..they are not wanted here..
