I was an Atheist for most of my adult life. I realized I was wrong when I actually had a personal experience with God. I mean a physical experience. Not a spiritual one that can be questioned. It scared the crap out of me and gave me peace at the same time.
I just hope everyone has an experience like it.

Well, everyone is Atheist at birth, so all the people who are christian now used to be Atheist.

A better question to ask would be, "when will all the christians realize they're wrong and go back to Atheism?"

No because it is impossible to become a Christian, and for that to be wrong!!
That person has just escaped eternity in Hell and has gained
Heaven for all eternity.

It is also impossible for a Christian to no longer be a Christian,
because it was nothing the person did to gain Heaven , The lord Jesus Christ did it all, paid the price, shed His Blood , gave His life to save that soul.

Now a Christian can act like they are of the world stop going to church, etc.and live a miserable life, but still will go to heaven, but sadly ,will be without rewards and outside the gate, not allowed in to the beautiful city, New Jerusalem

Realized they were wrong about being an atheist?

I can see someone going from Christianity to Atheism, but the other way around? None that I know of.

You have it backwards, pal...Why are Buddhists / Taoists the only one's who don't claim they're the only true religion ? Wake up, it's 2006. There are no talking snakes and 900 year old men. The earth isn't flat, and we're not the center of the universe. Explain to me why, on average, at least 10,000 children a day in the world, die from starvation and other related causes ? These are kids under the age of 10...You're telling me an "all loving", "all powerful" god would sit by and allow this to happen ? Want to buy a bridge ?

Good question. I imagine they exist. I know this is sort of the opposite of what you are asking, but one of my "heroes" is a former Christian preacher, who is now an atheist. You can read about him at the link below, if you are interested.

Edit: For those who claim that C.S. Lewis was an atheist at one time, that is not a fact. Although he eschewed organized religion at one point, he never (to my knowledge) claimed that God did not exist.

I went the opposite way. I was Christian turned atheist. But now I guess I'm more agnostic. I don't belong to a religion, but I definitely believe there is a higher power somewhere. I do feel closer to this power now that I'm outside of a church, exploring the world to find it.

I'm intrigued by the order of the actions in that sentence. Are you asking about someone who converted and then deconverted? Possible. There are 6 billion people out there, after all.

Yes, a very famous one. He was a scholar (from England?) who set out to 'disprove Christianity once and for all'. In his attempt, he was converted. He went on to write many books, including ones for children. You may have heard of them. They are the Chronicles Of Narnia. His name?.....C.S. Lewis.
