Evangelicals tends to be a broader term. They can range from theologically middle of the roaders to very conservative. For instance many evangelicals do not take the creation accounts literally. They do however see that evangelism (conversion of those outside Christianity) as important.

Fundamentalist are theologically very conservative. They encourage a literalistic interpretation of the Bible. They may or may not view evangelism as important. Moreover they tend to consider contextualization (making the conversion message culturally relevant) unimportant or even wrong.

Evangelism refers to the spreading of a religion.

Fundamentalism refers to taking a religion's "fundamentals", usually holy texts, literally in the majority of ways.

The crossover comes when evangelism is a fundamental part of a religion.

I'm a neutral party theologically, I think. I believe in equal validity of all religions.
