I can't find any sources saying that has been confirmed. If he is indeed dead, then so be it. He deserves it.
However, I don't believe that his death will kill the rest of the al-Qaeda insurgency; it might fuel it even more, since the West was unsuccessful in killing him. Only time will tell.
