If you feel you need to control people then you have a personal problem with self-esteem. People who "Have it together" do not feel that they have to control others. If you think you really need to control people then work very hard to become a military officer of the "Old School". Controlling others is an outdated concept and is not accepted by many educated people in the business or "real" world.

What do you mean by control? We can't control anyone, we can only control our own perceptions and reactions. If you feel like someone is controlling you, or always controlling the situation- like an overbearing friend or acquaintance, then yes, by all means-stay away from people like that. But in human relationships, we should not try to control anyone.

Control? Why would you want to control someone in the first place. But if that's how you see your relationships, then yes perhaps you should stay away from people you cannot control. Especially if it makes you lose your control. No one wants to be controlled or out of control. Sara.

Being a control freak only shows people that you suffer from extreme insecurity. Maybe you should try to find out where your insecurities are and work on them. You shouldn't try to control anyone. I mean really. Why is it your job? and further more who said that you had all of the answers that were correct so that you could control people?
Honey, try working on yourself, so you won't have this need to control.
Good Luck and God Bless

No. You should avoid trying to control people.

That could get lonely since the only person you can really control is yourself (and depending on your willpower, maybe even that's beyond your grasp!)

If you surround yourself with people who are easily manipulated you will wind up bored anyway. You won't respect them & you won't be challenged.

I'm a control freak myself & it can be difficult when people don't behave the way I wish they would (especially other drivers on the road! Drives me nuts!) But I just try to find my zen & not let it get to me. No one is perfect, not even me. Just accept people as they are & hope for the best. If someone really steps out of line though, I certainly tell them!

Why ? What are you afraid of ? There are lots of people and things in the world you can not control, and if you try to avoid them you will be bored and boring.

only if you are a dominant personality. If you "must" control people then I do suggest you avoid the people who are resistant to authority, because te struggle for power will hurt them as well as you.

The truth of the matter is you can't control anyone but yourself. So stop trying to control others you will be much happier.
