It's called No-sorb, and is available from your veterinarian. Not all DVMs keep it, however. You might have to call around. (You won't need a prescription or anything....if they have it, you should be able to buy it OTC.)
It looks like little charcoal/black-colored pellets. It comes in a little plastic cup, and we dispense it to clients when we need them to collect a urine sample from their cat at home to bring to us. Yes, it is washable and reusable. (It is easily sanitized.)
Don't know why you'd want to use it for any other reason, though. (?)
Edit: Looks like Joy beat me to it! LOL :-)

Some years ago, when I was an inexperienced cat owner I tried out all kinds of cat litter and this was one of them. It wasn't available in local pet stores, I sent away for it, tried it and soon threw it out. I can't remember what it was called but that's probably as well because my advice is to forget about it. The stuff stank to high heaven the moment urine touched it and, as an earlier writer intimated, washing cat litter is a disgusting job.
I have two cats and two litter trays - one cat prefers clay and the other pine.

It's called No-sorb. It's a veterinary product used to collect urine samples from cats. Jorgenson Labs also make one called Lab-litter. It's white.

I commend your saving energy motives but I cant imagine why you would want to wash and reuse cat litter. Its terribly unhygenic as you can catch allsorts from cat pooh. The wood base one from Morrisons is the best - essentially its sawdust, good for the environment, biodegradable, masks nasty smells, not too noisy when they are scraping it around. win, win situation

Are you serious or what, i can not believe that anyone would want to wash cat litter after it has been used.
Next you'll be wanting washable toilet roll.
