On a trip to Yunnan Province, China, a few years ago, I ate assorted fried worms as well as crickets. Yum! My faves were the bamboo worms, which had the consistency of baked Cheetos.
Scorpions-on-a-stick are a staple at the Wangfujing Food Street stands in Beijing.
And then the Cantonese get really adventurous with their gastronomical adventures. But watch the civet cat--last I heard, sale of those in Guangdong food markets is what launched the SARS epidemic.
In short, there's lots of edible stuff that Americans overlook.

Try some fried alligator tail. Yum yum.
And the person who said dog and cat, that's just disgusting. Or they just want 10 points for naming a lot of animals. lol
My grandma ate squirrel and opossum.

If you live near NYC, just visit Chinatown and you can choose from a variety of foods like..
snails with black bean sauce, soft-shell crab (delicious..), soft-shell turtle, mussels with black bean sauce, frog (tastes like chicken), roast duck, sweet & sour squid, fried scallops, coconut shrimp, steamed flounder, quail eggs, shark's fin dumpling, Pork Chop with Hot Black Pepper Sauce, sea cucumber (jello-like substance but very good!)... and i've seen an online video of live octopus at a Japanese restaurant. it's actually dead, but the tentacles still show movement so it's like you are eating worms.
In Newark, there are brazilian restaurants which offer exotic meats like crocodile (or was it alligator), buffalo, and snake.. served off a sword.
I've never tried insects, but i hear they are good.. wish i knew of restaurants which offer them in their menu.
