My nephew loved Littlest Touch LeapPad. It is a toy than can help a child learn and also use motor skills. The toy also can grow with the child.

You will hate this, but Play-Dough is great for developing fine-motor skills. Any books with lots of pictures or things your child is already interested in. Those books with the "flaps" are great--also good for fine motor skills.
