I think you calling it Spag Bog hasn't helped. Surely, it's Spag Bol... but let it pass. Your ingredients sound about right, but don't see I Tomato Puree on there to give it the strong tomato flavour that it should have. There also seems to have been a distinct lack of herbs so far as well.

What did you fry the onions and mince in? It should have been olive oil. If you have used lard or some-such-sh*it, it will smell and taste awful

You'd have been better buying a jar of Dol Mio and slopping it onto a pan of cooked mince and onions.

Get someone who does like the taste, and knows how it should taste to try it. Then go from there, either modify it and serve it, or sling it in the bin, and get some KFC or similar sh*it.

Classically there is only a bit of mace or nutmeg in a spag bol but a few herbs and garlic add a bit. For this dish you must use the best mince you can otherwise it awful. Its a dish that looks easy but is extremely hard to get right!!. Add garlic, tomato puree and mixed herbs, sage in particular, it won't be classic but it will be better. Oh, maybe a pinch of cayenne, but only a pinch and a teaspoon of sugar.

try cooking the onions in white wine instead of red i used to cook it for 70 people and not once I've had a complaint , or when the mixture is simmering in its own juices try adding some beef stock or something called beef bullion which will bring the flavour out more ! hope this can help you ! if not send me ur recipe and the way u make the dish and maybe i could make a few suggestions ravingchefportsmouth@yahoo.co.uk

Soften onions and garlic, add good quality beef and small pieces of bacon, cook for 20 mins. Add tomatoes, musherooms and herbs. Basil, parsley, and what else you like. Add tomatoe paste. Maybe you will need to add some water so that it does not stick.
cook gently for 30 to 50 minuets. Delisious we eat it all the time. Good luck.

BASIL!! salt and lots of pepper, maybe an oxo cube if you have one, and a bit of lea and perrins maybe? More red wine? Shouldn't smell that bad though from what you've said is in there? Sure the meat isn't bad??

Try putting in some Oxos you should have done that already and if that doesn't work try the old trick of using brown sauce but go easy!
