Because it's been a commonly used word in our society for a long time. It is used for the same reason that all other cuss words are.
Could you replace god with allah? Yes, you could, but no one would know what you were saying most likely.

Rest assured that even in Muslim societies, there is blasphemy just like in other cultures. But my hunch is that Muslims are more quiet about it so that no one will throw a rock at them.

if you are a muslim, you'll be given the koran and ask to swear in the name of your god to tell the true and nothing but the true to save your.....

It is written "Do not swear at all, just let your yes be yes and your no be no." OH!!!--I see what you mean, Duh, Yes I've wondered about that myself and what about when we don't like to say "Oh MY God" but, we have no problems saying "OH MY GOODNESS", when this is the same as saying "OH MY GOD"

christians are false and do not honor their god or religion as muslims do. they do not fear god. they disobey all his commandments. thou shalt not take the lord god's name in vain. muslims believe this and respect god too much to violate this.
