I've argued this time and time again with many different groups Atheist, Christian, Etc... and there are many who eventually do agree.

There is one single truth in the universe. Regardless of whether the Atheists are right, the Christians are right, or (God forbid) the Scientologists are right. There is one answer. Everything else is a perception of that answer.

I know this sounds really simple, but for some reason when I declare to people that there is a single answer I keep getting the reply "from you're perspective". I agree, I do have a perspective and there are many others that has their ideas of the way they think things are, BUT it still remains that whether we agree or not on what it may be, that there IS just one "Truth" to the universe.

I'll add detail as people respond and please update your perspectives with "edit".

(For Clarification)
by saying Truth I'm refering to the big picture (ie. Why we're here. What created the universe.)

But truth isn't about our perception of it. Truth by itself is an absolute.

Regardless of belief or need has little to do with what the answer is. We seem to start with ourselves and look at the universe from where we stand. I look at it that we should start with the universe and finish from where we stand in it.

I'm not trying to argue believer or non believer and truth exists outside of me. I have nothing to do with what truth is. I DON'T have "My Truth". I only have my perception of what I think it is.

Yes there is. Either creation happened or it didn't, either God exists or He doesn't, either Jesus died or He didn't. There are also moral absolutes, some things are wrong all the time, some things are good all the time, there is no middle ground.

Jesus Christ gave us the answer. He said, " I am the way, the truth and the life. No one gets unto the Father but through me." He didn't use the word perceptive. We all have the gift of free will. And if you chose to not accept Jesus, that is your choice and you pay the price for it. As far as why we are here and what created the universe, besides people's perceptions, I think that God's perception trumps everybody. Then you get to the last truth. We all eventually will die and face God one day.

Yes, there is one single truth. What I believe and what an atheist believes can be considered opinions. But, there can be only the truth.

i believe everybody has thier own individual truth. there is undoubtedly in my mind and heart One truth. and that is christ. but it does no good to argue this with non believers they will believe what they want to believe and try to argue with you.

there is only one truth...for you. and as long as you know what it is then there is no need to to fight the issue with anyone else.

people wont listen to you if your beliefs differ from theirs--from personal exp.

i understand and to the asker of the question i was not trying to say you are argumentitive--but your truth is exactly what you said
your perception-just giving my opinion-thanks

you are absolutely correct. There have been through time many perceived truths that were done away with when the absolute truth was discovered.

man has a habit of making up his own "truth" when the real truth doesn't suit him.

The only reason I would *not* say there is no absolute truth is that, by believing that, the absence of absolute truth would become an absolute truth.

I'm seriously not trying to be dodgy. That's my perspective.

There is only one truth, for the truth and nothing but the truth.
The "big picture" why wer'e here and what created the universe would be:
The creator himself: GOD
All who seek shall find the truth.

my current theory and discussion topic with others is just this

are we more like a giant diamond with millions of small cuts and facets, each of us with a slightly different take or view, but together we are One?

do we not see the same thing but from a different perspective, as the light shines we see a whole spectrum, and depends where we stand, that 'rainbow' is always in a different place depending on rain and light....

but together we all see same truth, all have a different view and take, all saying same thing, but seeing different aspects?

Yes there is only one way...one truth...

"I am the way, the truth, and the life"
No one comes to the Father except THROUGH me"
