I would be pretty upset to know this man was wondering around my neighborhood because I have children. Do you think that judges who create a danger to the public by releasing these people should be removed from the bench?

Judge sets bond for man charged repeatedly with sex crimes
by Brian Vandenberg, KY3 News

OZARK, Mo. -- The lawyer for a man from Nixa who is accused of more than 20 sex crimes with children in four counties said Wednesday afternoon that he expected his client to be out of jail by that night. A judge set a $25,000 bond for Larry Savage on the latest charge against him, sexual exploitation of a minor, and ordered him to appear in court again on Oct. 25 for a preliminary hearing.

Christian County sheriff’s deputies hoped a judge would not set a bond, keeping Savage in jail until he’s tried. Savage surrendered on Tuesday afternoon after deputies spent several days looking for him with an arrest warrant.

Savage faces charges in Christian, Webster, Newton and Greene counties for acts with girls and adults that investigators say started several years ago. Prosecutors say some of the crimes, at least in Greene County, occurred while Savage was out on bond for the previously charged crimes. The latest Christian County charge resulted from continuing investigation of previous charges as prosecutors prepare for a trial, scheduled for Nov. 13 in Taney County to try to ensure a fair outcome. A preliminary hearing on the charges in Greene County is set for Nov. 14. A trial is scheduled in Webster County on Dec. 4. The case in Newton County has no trial scheduled. Any or all of the dates could change.

While it sounds as though this guy is probably not a great danger to your children (none of the charges are for assault or rape), I agree it is not nice to think that such a persistent offender is at large. It sounds as though he doesn't actually have much control over his proclivities and - if only for his own sake - he would be better off in custody.

If he is in your area, it would be good to make your kids aware that he is about and that they should not speak to strangers and tell an adult immediately if someone is bothering them.

I don't know about removing the judge. There is really too little evidence in that short article to say whether or not he is abusing his authority.

Our elected officials spend too much time trying to attend free meals and are too busy prancing showing off new wardrobes in front of cameras... we've become too lax and do not make enough demands on them and we do not hold them accountable for their screw-ups. We need to get busy and write an occasional letter showing our disapproval.

The numbers that are shown in so many different neighborhoods are staggering... and this is all over the US of A!

I wish judges, proxecutors and all defense attorneys woud be required to spend at least a week every ten years in a prison; yes, sleeping and eating with those animals and hear them brag of the crimes and abuses they got away with... I wish they knew the REAL criminals, not what appears on paper. They've lost touch with reality. They release those animals out in the streets because they are not going to be moving into THEIR neighborhoods, but ours.

Remove the judge from the bench? It ain't easy but I'm sure it can be done. Get a few elected officals to take up your cause (preferrably from opposing political parties) and push them to get that bastard off the bench and make sure they get all the publicity they can! Give that idiot judge all the bad publicity you can!

There are websites now that you can punch in your address and registered sex offenders will show on a map. You would be surprised who may live across the road from you or your kids school. These websites need to be Government funded and manditory registration placed in the responsibility of local law enforcement or social services

Yes I think that the judge should be removed from office. We had a judge here in Nebraska, who said that a man who had plead guilty to sexual offenses against children should not go to jail because he was too short. When did prison become a carnival ride that you have to be a specific height to ride?

Well if we could do that then the judge who did the O. J simpson trial would be serving life in prison already.

You tend to find that this is becoming a frighteningly more regular occurrence.Where will it all end. Castration, chemical or other means may be a solution.
