Shanghai is a famous global area drawing more and more attention from throughout the earth; therefore see what that city is offering with hotelbye . Shanghai is a favorite journey destination for visitors. In Shanghai you will see the marvelous Yu Garden (Yù Yuán), also known as the Garden of Happiness. This Garden addresses an area greater than 20,000 square meters and consists of an external and an internal garden. The oldest area may be the Outer Garden with more changes being produced in the 18th century when Sansui Tang, the park's major corridor, was added. The newer and much smaller Inner Garden days from 1709 and contains characteristics typical of a conventional Chinese writer's Garden: attractive small pavilions, decorative rocks, and small pile stages, splitting walls and little ponds, and even a highly furnished theatrical stage.

Which place in China will you recommend to other travellers?
Yunnan province, Lijiang city, Dali and Lugu Lake are all amazing -- Kunming is a relaxed and easy going big city.
Also, Sichuan is out of this world - see Chengdu, or head west to some of the most amazing scenery in China..Emei mountain is cool, but the neatest thing at Emei is the Joking Money Zone where monkeys roam free in the hills. I even got attacked by a few who were trying to pick my pocket.
I don't know anout the other places. I can however recommend Gansu province - Lanzhou, Tianshui and especially XiaHe way up in the mountains.
Also check out Fujian province - it's cheap, easy-going and warm in the winter. Xiamen and Quanzhou

yangshuo/guilin! the most amazing place in china...and i've been all over china. nothing has taken my breathe away like yangshuo. the people, the landscapes, the lifestyle...it's completely amazing. i suggest to head to yangshuo, rent a bike for a day or 2 and then bike around through the small villages. go with a group, get a little lost and discover a whole new world.
we rented mopeds one day and my friend's bike kept running out of power so we had to find a village that had a power line leading to it, and pay them to use their power while we charged up his bike. it was completely amazing to stumble into a small random village and hangout for awhile while we waited.
another day we were riding mountain bikes along the river and after 1 person had a flat and we stopped at a different village to get it fixed, we met a man that was guangdong-ren and since some of us were also guangdong-ren, he showed us around and we were able to go out on the river in their bamboo rafts. it was fun and also another amazing adventure. there's no tour or tour guide that could give me that same experience for any sort of money. we just wandered about and discovered so many amazing things on our own. truly amazing memories.

Guilin/Yangshuo - superb scenery! Even in murky weather it is awe inspiring.
We were on a tour and had lunch at the Yangshuo Mountain Retreat - right on the edge of the river, very quiet and peaceful! Would really love to go back there and stay a few days to unwind - see http://www.yangshuomountainretreat.com/index.html
