I can see how its very easy to think that.
I don't believe in mass religion - I think every person has their own very personal beliefs, and its when a bunch of people give themselves a name and become a group and demand that you conform to certain beliefs and behaviours to be part of that group that there are both personal and social problems.
Everyone is different, so every individual persons beliefs are different.
A lot of religions seem contradictory, but you have to understand (not just intellectually, but emotionally and spiritually) the big concepts, such as faith, and then the supposed contradictions fall into place.
Of course there are some religions that are a load of rubbish and don't make any sense at all to me (but perhaps this is just because I'm ignorant of them).
And lastly - isn't life itself contradictory? So why shouldn't religion be?

Though I think this is not entirely true (many religions are related to each other and say many of the same things), there must a lot of people out there supporting you thesis. Religion contradicts most with rational human observation in general.

Yes. Religion, especially christianity is a mass of contrivance. Its so messed up that you can choose the bits you like, disregard the bits you dont and guess what? theres a church for you. They all disagree at funde MENTAL levels about their "faith". But as luck would have it, it looks to be dying out , so thats some proper "good news" eh?. Maybe the aetheists should get together and go and take back the worlds treasures that have been murdered, maimed and burned for that lay in the vatican. Ol' nazi boy pope wouldnt last too long..... even if he prayed....

It's a human nature to blame other people/ things for their beliefs and misconceptions. I, by any way, don't mean you're wrong. I respect your feelings and thoughts. But, all religions, which are not ammended by us, the humans, are not a contradiction of what they say. Peace!

I think western religion is, for the most part. Eastern and Native American religions are more sensible and harmonious with nature.

its contradictory to those who knew about the real terms of its meanings but it's word for word as what it is for blind followers
thus the very reason it's important need for prophets or messengers to convey god's messages as what it is.
it's just god's way to give human this era, a choice as to be
a follower or a thinker to unravel his great puzzle
to the many thinkers- it's just allegory

No. All religions are different. They can't all claim to be the way to live a life.

I agree that religion is highly contradictory, but what do you mean by "in terms"? By definition?

I would not go that far. I merely claim (and can prove) that any religion is useless.
