I started my daughter at 18 months in a class called "Baby Gym" at our local rec center and she loved it so much we did "Toddler Gym" and on up. She just turned 4 and she has had exposure to balance beam, very low bar, parallel bars, trampoline, etc. In the last class she took, she was learning some floor routine stuff (not for competition, but just for practice/discipline). It was great to expend her energy and help her focus. The teacher was very encouraging -- firm, but she made it fun. Now we even put tape down on the floor and pretend its our balance beam at home. I will catch her from time to time practicing her rolls and handstand on her own for fun. (Usually it involved a lot of falling over, but she doesn't mind.) If you can find a situation where they teach it for fun, I highly recommend it. It's been great for my daughter.

My mom taught dance and gymnastics for about 25 years she had a 3 yr old class. Your best bet would be to find a couple different places in your area and call them to see. If they have a class it'll be alot of fun for her I know all the kids loved it. Also try your local YMCA. They have a higher chance of having a class for younger kids.

In my area most of the gymnastics classes start at age 3 but you can find parent-and-child classes for infants on up.

my grand-daughter is an only child and not around many children when she turned 2 my daughter and I searched around for something to get her involved in to be around other children. Gymnastics in our area started at age 2. We inrolled her then.she will turn 3 in march .She loves it ,it did take a few times for her to get the concept. Now thats all she thinks about it's great!!!They do work with stretches, rolls, beams, bars, etc. You need to call the gym ask some questions. Ours will let you and your child set in on a session and watch. If you do decide to start .Just have patients with her at first!!!!! Good Luck!!!!!

Yes, she can go at age 3, that's when I enrolled my daughter. At that age they don't do much but roll around and play with each other, but it's good fun for them.

Check with your local YMCA. Ours offers gymnastics for as young as 3yrs. Also call a local dance academy. They may have classes or know who will.
